Description

Position: Dental Assistant I

Location: Norristown, PA

Salary: $21-22/hour

Schedule: Mon-Fri

Position Purpose: This role involves assisting patients courteously, completing registration paperwork, preparing treatment materials, and supporting the dental team.

Clinical Duties
  • Prepare operatories and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of operatories and laboratory.
  • Assist with patient flow and treatment preparation.
  • Greet, seat, and prepare patients for treatment.
  • Provide patient education and support.
  • Update patient health records and take vital signs.
  • Mark records with allergy and medical alerts.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene.
Electronic Charting
  • Accurately document dental care in electronic records.
  • Record planned but pending treatments.
Customer Service
  • Provide dental health education.
  • Post-visit instructions and appointment confirmations.
  • Schedule future appointments and handle inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional communication.
  • Keep reception area tidy.
Clerical
  • Stock supplies and maintain equipment.
  • Manage prosthodontics cases with the dental lab.
  • Ensure equipment meets safety standards.
Patient Assistance
  • Greet and process patients, including walk-ins.
  • Generate encounter forms and schedule next visits.
  • Handle insurance claims and verify coverage.
  • Assist with patient forms and payments.
Record Management and Billing
  • Maintain patient records and schedules.
  • Process payments and insurance updates.
  • Estimate dental costs and arrange payment plans.
  • Manage departmental correspondence and supplies.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Physical Demands
