Job summary

Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center (ANHC) invites you to join our dental team as a Dental Assistant Trainee, I, II, or III, depending on experience. You will support patient care, prepare for procedures, and assist with radiographs and clinical duties in a patient‑centered environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental appointments by reviewing and updating medical and dental records.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, and relevant health information.
  • Prepare instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for procedures.
  • Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Maintain sterile fields and ensure infection control standards.
  • Capture diagnostic dental radiographs; take dental impressions and prepare study models.
  • Expand clinical duties with experience: fluoride treatments, sealants, temporary crowns, rubber dams, etc.
