Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Preferences

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred
• Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, medical documentation, and infection control practices
• Experience operating dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and procedures is a plus
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while adhering to radiation safety standards
• Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and general healthcare practices
• Certification in dental assisting or related field is desirable but not mandatory; relevant on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates

Duties

• Assist dentists during various procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques
• Take and record vital signs and medical history for patients
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies while maintaining strict infection control protocols
• Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate diagnostic images
• Manage electronic health records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide patient education on procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices
• Assist with sterilization processes and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following aseptic techniques
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology across various specialties including pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry
