East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking Dental Assistants, for a thriving practice at 19 Broadway in Newport, RI that serves both adults and children. Make a difference in the lives of patients:

As a Dental Assistant, you will work with several dentists and dental hygienists and provide chair-side skills, observe, and apply infection control and laboratory protocols, and assist with basic principles of taking x-rays.

  • Sterilize dental instruments in adherence to all licensing and accreditation protocols
  • Prepare room and instruments for the anticipated/scheduled dental procedures.
  • Prepare radiographs for viewing/diagnosis by Dentist.
  • Assist Dentist with instruments and tasks at “chair side”.
  • Assure operating methods and materials in the Dental Area are following OSHA’s blood borne pathogens and hazardous material standards.
  • Assist hygienists when needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Certification by the Dental Assisting National Board as a “certified dental assistant” preferred.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Current certificate of completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider or ability to obtain certification.
