Job summary

We are seeking a qualified and caring Dental Assistant to join our team at the Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS). You will provide top-notch dental care that makes our clients feel like family.

You will provide assistance to the dentist during exams and procedures and complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments. Proficiency in four-handed dentistry, oral surgery assistance, periodontal procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implant placement support is required.

Qualifications

• CODA-accredited dental assistant program completion required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as dental assistant.
• Dental Radiological Certificate required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• TB test current.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients into the treatment area and ensure comfort.
• Discuss the dental care plan with patients and answer questions.
• Take vital signs and record medical history.
• Prep sterilized equipment and provide to the dentist.
• Assist the dentist during procedures and exams.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and office policies.
• Schedule appointments.
