Job summary

Shoreline Dentistry of Wayzata, part of Heartland Dental, seeks a licensed Dental Assistant to join our team. You will greet patients, review health histories, take x-rays and support clinicians with four-handed dentistry.

The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping with Dentrix, adherence to safety standards, and active collaboration with the team to maintain high-quality patient care. Minnesota licensing is required.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification if required by state act.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Regular HIPAA training and PHI protection.
• Minnesota dental assisting license required (or in process).

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients and educate them throughout treatment.
• Review patient health history for quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (e.g., iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists according to state act.
• Use Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping.
• Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and place/expedite orders; support Heartland Dental systems.
