The role supports four-handed dentistry, patient seating and dismissals, instrument sterilization, radiograph processing, inventory management, and basic equipment maintenance while maintaining a professional patient-facing attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a dental office preferred.
• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification in NYS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Seat and dismiss patients; maintain operatory and dental laboratory cleanliness.
• Sterilize instruments and process radiographs.
• Manage supplies inventory; assist with laboratory duties and clerical tasks.
• Use computerized systems for patient registration and administrative processes.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance (e.g., change suction machine filters).

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Dental Assistant - Float to join our team. The Dental Assistant - Float will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients in compliance with regulatory guidelines. This position involves collaborating closely with the dentist, engaging in four-handed dentistry tasks, managing patient seating and dismissals, sterilizing instruments, taking x-rays, overseeing inventory, handling basic equipment maintenance, and fulfilling various clerical duties. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a professional and supportive attitude towards patients while actively participating in staff meetings.

This position requires flexibility to work at different locations (Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport and Lackawanna, NY) within our dental practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a dental office
• Certification as a registered dental assistant in New York State is preferred

Salary Range

• Registered Dental Assistant: $20.87 - $28.47 per hour
• Dental Assistant without certification: $18.68 - $22.32 per hour
