Community Health Center of Buffalo Inc. is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant - Float to join our team.

The Dental Assistant - Float will work closely with the dentist in four-handed dentistry, manage patient seating and dismissals, sterilize instruments, take x-rays, oversee inventory, and handle clerical duties in a busy dental practice across Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport, and Lackawanna, NY. The role requires flexibility to work at multiple locations while delivering professional patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in a dental office.
• New York State Registered Dental Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Seat and dismiss patients; maintain operatory and dental laboratory cleanliness.
• Sterilize dental instruments; process radiographs.
• Manage dental supplies inventory; conduct laboratory duties; handle clerical tasks.
• Utilize computerized systems for patient registration and other administrative processes.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance, such as changing suction machine filters.

Job Summary

This position involves collaborating closely with the dentist, engaging in four-handed dentistry tasks, managing patient seating and dismissals, sterilizing instruments, taking x-rays, overseeing inventory, handling basic equipment maintenance, and fulfilling various clerical duties. A key aspect of this role is maintaining a professional and supportive attitude towards patients while actively participating in staff meetings.

This position requires flexibility to work at different locations (Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Lockport and Lackawanna, NY) within our dental practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a dental office
• Certification as a registered dental assistant in New York State is preferred

Salary Range

• Registered Dental Assistant: $20.87 - $28.47 per hour
• Dental Assistant without certification: $18.68 - $22.32 per hour
