Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; accredited dental assistant program preferred.
• Current Dental Assistant certification (CRA/RDA) and X-ray certification as required by state law.
• Proficiency with dental software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and digital imaging equipment.
• Strong manual dexterity, calm bedside manner, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Clinical support: assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including fillings, extractions, and specialty services.
• Patient care: prepare patients for treatments, ensure comfort in the chair, and provide post-operative instructions.
• Radiography: take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos as directed by the dentist.
• Sterilization: clean and sanitize instruments and treatment rooms according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Laboratory tasks: pour and trim diagnostic casts and create temporary crowns or impressions.
• Administrative support: maintain patient records, update histories, and assist front desk with scheduling.
