Job summary

Dental Associates of Florida - Polk Parkway in Lakeland, FL seeks a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team in a team-based setting, delivering high levels of patient care and satisfaction.

Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience, a one-year certified program or six months on-the-job experience, and X-Ray certification. Nitrous Oxide certification is recommended; OSHA/HIPAA/CPR training required; modern office with advanced dental technology.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program.
• Six months on-the-job experience (with supporting documentation).
• X-Ray certification.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, CPR and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed).
• Assist dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by supporting CPR and emergency supplies.

Education

One-year certified dental assistant program

High school diploma or equivalent

Six months on-the-job experience

X-Ray certification

Nitrous Oxide certification recommended
