Job summary

Family Dental Station in Glendale, AZ is actively seeking a dependable Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. You will work closely with dentists and hygienists to support procedures, maintain a safe, organized operatory, and help deliver an outstanding patient experience.

The ideal candidate has dental assisting training and is detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced dental office. Compensation is $20-$30 per hour, with benefits as described.

Qualifications

• Dental assisting program completed or in progress.
• Arizona dental assisting credentials required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Radiography certification or other required qualifications for duties performed.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, sterilization, and infection control.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for procedures and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit.
• Assist dentists during restorative, crown and bridge, endodontic, extraction, implant, and other dental procedures as trained and permitted.
• Take dental radiographs when properly qualified and authorized.
• Take intraoral scans, impressions, and dental photographs as trained and assigned.
• Prepare, organize, and pass instruments and dental materials during procedures.
• Mix and prepare dental materials according to manufacturer instructions and office protocols.
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Monitor patient comfort and communicate concerns to the provider.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update patient records in Dentrix Ascend.
• Set up treatment rooms before procedures and disinfect them between patients.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain sterilization equipment according to established protocols.
• Follow OSHA, CDC, and office infection-control procedures.
• Maintain proper handling and disposal of sharps, biohazardous materials, and contaminated instruments.
• Monitor and restock clinical supplies.
• Keep operatories, sterilization areas, and laboratory spaces clean and organized.
• Review the daily schedule and prepare rooms, instruments, and materials in advance.
• Help keep appointments running on time.
• Communicate effectively with dentists, hygienists, treatment coordinators, and front-office staff.
• Anticipate provider needs during procedures and maintain an organized workspace.
• Assist with laboratory cases, temporary restorations, and case preparation as assigned.
• Follow office policies, clinical protocols, and documentation standards.
• Demonstrate reliability, accountability, flexibility, and a willingness to learn.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuing education as needed.
