Thundermist Health Center in Rhode Island is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our Dental team. You will provide hands‑on chairside support to dentists, from setting up procedures and taking x‑rays to documenting treatment plans and impressions, helping keep the clinic running smoothly and patients comfortable.

This role requires a high school diploma, X‑ray and BLS certifications (or ability to complete within 6 months), computer charting skills, and a patient‑centered approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• X‑Ray Certification (or ability to complete within 6 months of hire).
• BLS Certification (or ability to complete within 6 months of hire).
• Comfortable using computers for charting and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous dental assistant experience is a plus — candidates who don’t meet every preferred qualification are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Set up dental procedures and prepare treatment rooms for each patient.
• Provide hands‑on assistance to the dentist during procedures.
• Take clear, diagnostic‑quality x‑ray films.
• Capture accurate alginate impressions.
• Sterilize dental instruments and maintain infection‑control standards.
• Record patient vitals and chief complaints in the chart.
• Document clinical notes and treatment plans accurately.
• Communicate with patients in a warm, professional manner to ensure comfort throughout their visit.
