Job Description: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant at Aspen Dental

Salary: $20 - $24 per hour

How You’ll Make a Difference

As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, you will perform essential duties to foster trust and loyalty with patients:

  • Assist with patient flow and support the dental team throughout the day
  • Assist dentists during various treatment procedures
  • Prepare and breakdown operatory rooms
  • Ensure sterilization and maintenance of equipment and operatory areas
  • Support patient charting and record-keeping
  • Train others in patient handoffs and patient flow management
  • Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and safety regulations
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays)
  • Provide oral care instructions and patient education
  • Support laboratory case management and perform intraoral health scans
  • Perform expanded functions as certified (e.g., coronal polishing, restorative functions)
  • Maintain emergency kits and supplies
  • Perform other office tasks as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Current Dental Assistant license, registration, or certification as required by state
  • Radiology certification as required by state
  • CPR or BLS certification
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant
  • Proficiency in chairside assisting and infection control
  • Compliance with CE requirements and state certifications for expanded functions
