Wave Dental Specialists in Dearborn Heights, MI invites an experienced Dental Assistant to support our Endodontist and multi-specialty team. You will prep rooms, assist during root canals, take X-rays, and help with imaging and documentation.

The role offers growth through cross-training in other specialties and a fast-paced environment. We seek someone with dental assisting experience, Endodontic exposure preferred, and proficiency with Open Dental and intraoral scanners.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid X-ray certificate required by state regulations.
• Current CDA/RDA/EFDA license if applicable per state.
• Experience with Open Dental and intraoral scanners is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Endodontist during procedures including root canals.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and assist with imaging.
• Provide chairside support and anticipate doctor needs.
• Assist with microscopes and endodontic equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized clinical environment and records.
• Document treatment and coordinate with clinical/admin teams.
• Cross-train and assist other specialties as needed.

Position: Full-Time Dental Assistant

Are you an experienced Dental Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced specialty environment? Do you take pride in providing excellent patient care while working alongside a skilled specialist?

Wave Dental Specialists is a growing multi-specialty dental practice in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and we are looking for a dependable, motivated Dental Assistant to primarily support our Endodontist.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys specialty dentistry but also wants the opportunity to learn, grow, and cross-train in other specialties. While your primary focus will be Endodontics, you'll have the flexibility to jump in and support other departments when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Assist the Endodontist during a variety of procedures, including root canals and other endodontic treatments
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
• Take and develop dental X-rays and assist with diagnostic imaging
• Provide chairside assistance and anticipate the doctor's needs throughout procedures
• Assist with microscopes and specialty endodontic equipment
• Help with patient seating, treatment preparation, and post-operative instructions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical environment
• Provide exceptional patient care and help patients feel comfortable throughout their treatment
• Accurately document treatment and maintain patient records
• Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to keep the schedule running efficiently
• Cross-train and assist in other specialties throughout the practice as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Previous dental assisting experience required
• Endodontic experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with an endodontist and dental microscopes is a plus
• Experience with Open Dental preferred
• Experience with iTero or other intraoral scanners preferred
• Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume specialty environment
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication and patient-service skills
• A positive, team-oriented attitude
• Willingness to learn and support multiple specialties

Requirements

Education and Training

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one-year related experience and/or training or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in the dental profession.
• Valid X-ray certificate.
• Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements).
• CPR & first aid certificate.

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
