Job summary

Primary Health Care, Inc. in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Dental Assistant to join the University Clinic team. You will assist dentists with patient care, prepare operatory, take X-rays, manage records, and support front desk duties.

This full-time role requires completing an accredited dental assisting program, current Iowa QDA registration, BLS, and strong customer service. Shifts Tue-Fri 7:30 AM–6:00 PM with occasional travel to other PHC clinics; mileage reimbursement and travel bonus may

Qualifications

Completion of accredited dental assisting program or Iowa Board requirements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn software/database systems.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Detail oriented with high accuracy.
Professional demeanor with empathy.

Responsibilities

Prepares operatory setup and materials for patient visit.
Greets patients and establishes rapport with care and compassion.
Collects and records patient blood pressure, pulse, and health history.
Collects and submits all patient services and billing information.
Assists care provider and supports comprehensive care before, during and after procedures.
Completes dental x-rays following regulatory codes.
Maintains infection control and instrument processing as assigned.
Maintains patient records and assists front desk as needed.
