Job summary

AltaMed Health Services Corp. is seeking a Dental Assistant in Los Angeles to support dentists and hygienists in delivering primary care dental services. Responsibilities include sterilization, preparation, and inventory management of instruments, as well as upholding infection control standards.

The role involves assisting on clinic or mobile unit visits, with emphasis on patient comfort and safety, while joining a team dedicated to affordable, high-quality care for the community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED certificate required.
• Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act.
• Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting is preferred.
• Coronal Polishing Certification, Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting,
• Successful completion of a board-approved course in X-Ray, infection control required
• A valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist(s) and dental hygienist(s) in providing primary care dental services.
• Sterilize, prepare and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies.
• Maintain infection control in all areas involving patient care.
• Support mobile units when assigned and ensure patient comfort.

Bilingual English/Spanish

BLS certification

Valid CA Driver's License

Infection control knowledge

Education
