Pay Range: $27.08 - $32.94 hourly

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical assistance and support to Dentists and Dental Hygienists.
  • Perform all aspects of 4‑handed dentistry, including material mixing, rubber dam placement, and study model impressions.
  • Anticipate provider needs during treatment and keep the provider informed of schedule changes and unfilled appointments.
  • Triage emergency patients and inform providers of client needs.
  • Perform expanded dental assisting functions such as rubber‑cup prophylaxis, sealant application, polishing, placement/removal of matrix retainers, cement removal, and placement/removal of temporary restorations.
  • Set up and disinfect operatories, ensuring all instruments and supplies are available for patient care.
  • Report necessary repair needs, observe PPE guidelines, and monitor supply inventory levels.
  • Interact with patients in a respectful and courteous manner; monitor client wait times and keep patients informed of schedule delays.
  • Conduct phone follow‑ups and documentation for missed patient appointments.
  • Act as liaison with treatment staff and providers.
Qualifications
  • Completion of the twelfth grade.
  • Valid Expanded Function Dental Assistant certification, including radiologic proficiency issued by the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners.
  • Graduate from an accredited dental assistant program.
  • BLS CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Successful completion of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association for the application of pit and fissure sealants.
  • Successful completion of courses of instruction required prior to certification.
  • Preferred: One year of responsible dental assistant experience.
