Job summary

NiteLines USA is seeking a Dental Assistant to provide chair-side support for inmates at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Edgefield, Edgefield, SC. On-site role with a 35-hour week, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am–4:00 pm, and a 30-minute lunch break.

Pay rate is $23.82 per hour, with health insurance, PTO accrual, and vacation progression after service milestones. Requires specialty training or certification, radiology training, CPR, and a criminal background check (30–90 days).

Qualifications

• Must have specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school.
• Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety.
• CPR certification per Red Cross or American Heart Association; minimum two years of experience as a dental assistant.
• Federal background check will take at least 30-90 days to clear.

Responsibilities

• Perform chair-side dental assistance in operative, prosthetics, endodontics, periodontics, radiology, and oral surgery.
• Escort patients to treatment room, obtain health history and interview dental issues, take vitals if indicated.
• Assist the Dental Officer in procedures, prepare instruments, pass instruments, maintain records and schedule patients.
• Maintain dental equipment: clean, sharpen, and sterilize instruments; daily inspection and minor repairs.

NiteLines USA is currently looking for Dental Assistants to join the team! The prospective employee will provide dental assisting services as delineated below for the inmate population at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Edgefield, Edgefield, South Carolina.

Pay & Benefits:

• Pay Rate: $23.82 per hour.
• Health insurance benefit.
• Paid Time Off: One (1) hour accrual per every 30 hours work up to 56 hours per year.
• Vacation: Effective after one year of service with Nitelines USA, Inc two (2) weeks paid vacation after one (1) year of service with a contractor or successor, three (3) weeks after five (5) years, and four (4) weeks after 15 years.

Place of Performance

The services will be rendered on-site at Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Edgefield 501 Gary Hill Rd, Edgefield, SC 29824.

Schedule

Monday-Friday; 35 hours per week (except Federal Holidays) normally between the hours 7:30 am - 4:00 pm with a 30-minute, unpaid lunch break; must be flexible with schedule.

Description of Duties:

Dental assistant services provided shall include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:

• Perform chair-side dental assistance in the following dental disciplines: operative, prosthetics, endodontics, periodontics, radiology, and oral surgery.
• Retrieve and examine relevant sections of patients' records and escort patients to dental treatment room; seat and prepare patient for attending Dental Officer; obtain health history and interview patient regarding any dental issues; take blood pressure and temperature of patient, if indicated.
• Assist the Dental Officer in direct patient care: prepare instruments for the indicated procedure(s); preparation and use of dental medicaments and materials; passing of dental instruments to Dental Officer; retraction of tissues; irrigation of oral cavity; operation of dental aspirator; observe patient responses during dental procedure(s); instruct patients on pre- and post-dental treatment; assist in scheduling of dental patients; make necessary entries on dental treatment records (including use of Electronic Medical Record); prepare dental treatment room for the next patient; and assist in the treatment of emergency cases.
• Maintain dental equipment: clean, sharpen, and sterilize instruments; perform daily inspection of equipment and make minor repairs.

Qualifications

• The Dental Assistant shall possess specialty training from a licensed dentist and/or certification from an accredited Dental Assistant school.
• Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety.
• The Dental Assistant shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Dental Assistant services.
• Federal background check will take at least 30-90 days to clear.
