Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. in Sterling, Colorado seeks a Dental Assistant to support dentists and maintain a sterile, patient-friendly environment. This full-time, on-site role pays $34.58 per hour (W2).

Responsibilities include assisting during exams, preparing rooms and instruments, taking X‑rays, maintaining infection control, and documenting care while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Colorado license and BLS recommended.

Qualifications

• Active CO dental license/certification in good standing.
• At least 1 year of dental assistant experience within the last 3 years.
• Primary Source Verification (PSV) may be required.
• Copies of current certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95, immunizations, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment, and materials.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and maintain infection control standards.
• Take and process dental X-rays as permitted by state regulations.
• Explain procedures to help patient comfort and understanding.
• Provide chairside assistance, including instrument transfer and suctioning.
• Record patient medical and dental histories and treatment notes.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care.
• Monitor and maintain dental supplies, equipment, and inventory.
• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and facility policies.
• Assist with scheduling and administrative duties.

Shift Details:

• M-F, full time, hours vary based on the facility's operational needs.

Dental Assistant Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms, dental instruments, equipment, and materials before procedures.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and maintain proper infection control standards.
• Take and process dental X-rays as permitted by applicable state regulations.
• Prepare patients for treatment and explain procedures to help ensure comfort and understanding.

• Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and facility policies and procedures.
• Assist with scheduling, patient records, and other administrative duties as needed.
• Provide professional, compassionate, and patient‑centered support while promoting safety and quality dental care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CO license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year/s of recent experience as a Dental Assistant within the last 3 years.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,...)
