Job summary

The State of North Carolina’s Department of Adult Correction, Tabor Correctional Institution, seeks a Dental Assistant (S) to provide clinical support to dentists, assist in emergency and routine dentistry, radiology, and patient care for male offenders.

Complete dental assistant program and x-ray training; one year of on-the-job training or equivalent education/experience. This is a full-time, 40-hour week position with state benefits and background check.

Qualifications

• Completion of a dental assistant program from an accredited institution and one year of on-the-job training.
• Required x-ray training when needed.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary clinical support for offender care in emergency, general, restorative dentistry, radiology, and other clinical settings.
• Assist dentists with procedures and patient care.
• Maintain dental records and manage instruments and equipment.
