Job summary

Alabama Regional Medical Services is seeking a qualified dental assistant to support dentists and hygienists in a busy clinic. You will prepare instruments, assist chairside, take radiographs, impressions, and help with patient education.

The role requires a high school diploma, CPR certification, and preferred certification as a Dental Assistant; previous experience is a plus. Training provided and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Certified Dental Assistant, preferred.
• Maintain current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assistance to dentist and/or hygienist.
• Apply topical desensitizers, liners, bases, and fluorides under supervision.
• Clean, pack, sterilize, and organize dental instruments.
• Maintain sterilization logs and equipment maintenance.
• Record case history, vital signs (BP, pulse, temp).
• Expose and develop intra-oral and extra-oral radiographs.
• Take impressions for study casts.
• Place/remove periodontal and alveolar socket dressings.
• Construct and place temporary crowns.
• Assist in nitrous oxide administration.
• Provide oral health education to school children.
• Apply reversible liners and bases to dentures and appliances.
• Conduct dental health clinics for community groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
