Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with Texas Board is required or obtained within one year.
• One year of related experience or completion of an approved dental assistant course is required.
• Good hand skills for precise dental work and ability to work with patients, faculty and students.
• Strong communication and organization skills to manage schedules and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Sets up treatment rooms with trays, instruments, materials and supplies, and prepares chairs for next patient.
• Takes and develops digital x-rays and assists with examinations and charting.
• Receives and prepares patients for treatment, including vitals.
• Passes instruments and materials and performs routine procedures.
• Manages and schedules patient appointments and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
