Job summary

The University of Utah School of Dentistry Wakara Way Clinic seeks a Dental Assistant to support students and faculty with routine, restorative, and surgical procedures. You will prepare instruments, sterilize equipment, and help manage supplies while upholding infection control standards and patient care ethics.

Daily duties include chairside assistance, radiology positioning, and orientation of dental students. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of Dental Assistant Course and one year chair-side experience.
• Radiology Safety exam within six months of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification or obtained within one month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist student and attending dentists with procedures by preparing and providing instruments.
• Order, organize, and restock supplies.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment.
• Assist in chairside procedures and radiology positioning.
• Maintain sterilization records and inventory reports.
• Provide technical support to students and faculty.
