Job description

Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or higher, along with graduation from an accredited dental assistance program. Six (6) months of work experience in a dental office or clinic, or at least 500 hours of dental clinical rotation experience.

Licenses and Certificates

Certification as a Dental Assistant through completion of a Dental Assistant course from an accredited College or Technical School. Certified in Dental X-ray proficiency as prescribed by the Texas Department of Public Health. Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist or dental hygienist with patient examinations and procedures under general supervision.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as registering patients, preparing patient files, and assisting with insurance forms.
  • Prepare and organize dental instruments and materials for procedures.
  • Assist in radiographic examinations, develop films, and file patient records.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment.
  • Update patient records in Dentrix database, and handle billing and appointment scheduling.
  • Provide administrative support for dental supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in dental mobile deployment setup and breakdown.
  • Support the Senior Dental Assistant with additional duties as assigned.
