University Health is seeking a Dental Assistant I for UH Lakewood Medical Center to support dentists and hygienists, prepare rooms and instruments, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for patients.

The role covers taking radiographs, sterilization, patient positioning, and the use of electronic systems to document charges and support daily operations. Strong communication and a high school diploma are required, with BLS certification preferred.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification is required or must be able to maintain it as a condition of employment.
• One year of chairside dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment for dental procedures.
• Assist dentists and dental hygienists during patient care, including passing instruments and preparing restorative materials.
• Welcome, prepare, and position patients for treatment, including obtaining vital signs when needed.
• Take digital dental radiographs in accordance with departmental policies and complete annual radiology competencies.
• Clean treatment rooms, maintain infection prevention standards, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Assist with dental impressions and digital scans under the supervision of a dentist.
• Maintain dental supplies, equipment, and workstation inventory.
• Accurately document charges and utilize electronic systems to support daily operations.
• Promote quality patient care, safety, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Conhecimentos

Strong verbal communication skills

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) cert

Formação académica

High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant training program
