Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dental teams in clinics and health care settings. You will assist dentists at chairside, prep rooms, and handle instruments and imaging while maintaining a clean, organized environment.

The role requires completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program with internship hours, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong infection control and data-entry skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Program with required internship hours.
• Alternately, HS diploma with a dental program and supervised chairside hours.
• Experience in taking and uploading dental digital imaging is preferred.
• Experience with infection control and sterilization procedures is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Hand instruments to dentists and assist chairside during procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain clinic hygiene according to infection control rules.
• Prepare examination rooms and take dental digital imaging as needed.
• Mix dental materials and assist with laboratory processes for prosthetics.
• Maintain patient and instrument records and track supplies.
• Schedule appointments and enter data into the clinic systems.
