Sun River Health Dental Assistant Job Description

Sun River Health provides comprehensive primary, preventative, and behavioral health services to all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay, focusing on underserved and vulnerable populations. We are a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester County. We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant for our Beacon location.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Dentists and Hygienists as needed and prepare/dismantle operatory for patient treatment.
  • Check in patients and notify providers of their arrival.
  • Monitor and update patient charts, enter visit data, and manage documentation such as radiographs, treatment plans, and consent forms.
  • Record daily patient appointment data, including no-shows, cancellations, emergencies, and payment sources.
  • Take and process radiographs as directed.
  • Assist with patient care under the supervision of dental providers.
  • Follow OSHA standards of infection control per CDC guidelines and oversee sterilization procedures.
  • Maintain supplies and instruments in the dental operatory.
  • Manage dental laboratory tasks, including processing instruments and monitoring lab cases.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical School diploma or equivalent.

Salary range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
