Sun River Health Dental Assistant Job Description

Sun River Health provides high-quality comprehensive primary, preventative, and behavioral health services to all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay, especially serving underserved and vulnerable populations. We are a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester County. We are currently seeking a Full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at the Bay St, Staten Island location.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Dentists and Hygienists as needed and prepare/dismantle operatory for patient treatment.
  • Check in patients and notify providers of patient arrival.
  • Monitor and update patient charts; document visits, radiographs, treatment plans, and other relevant information.
  • Record patient appointment data daily, including no-shows, cancellations, emergencies, and payment sources.
  • Take and process radiographs as directed.
  • Assist with patient care.
  • Follow OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines.
  • Maintain supplies and instruments in the dental operatory.
  • Manage dental laboratory cases and monitor sterilization procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical School diploma or equivalent.
Additional Information

Salary range: $20.50 - $22.00 per hour.
