Re-Hires may not have worked for AHN within the previous 12 months to qualify

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Assists the dentist with procedures and prepares the patient and operatory for dental treatment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Organizes the operatory, including preparing trays and instruments for dental procedures.
2. Prepares and explains the dental procedure to the patient.
3. Assists the dentist chairside with all dental procedures.
4. Takes and develops intraoral/panorex/cephlometric x-rays, impressions and fabricates custom fluoride/bleaching trays.
5. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

1. Must pass national DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam within 30 days of hire. Incumbents hired prior to 12/12/2009 must have record with employer of passing the former Pennsylvania radiography exam.
2. CPR – American Heart Association
3. Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
4. Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
5. Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

1. Graduate of a certified dental assistant program preferred.
2. 1 year experience in a dental practice/hospital setting preferred.
