Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of two years of work experience in the dental assisting field with a diploma, degree, or certificate.
• Must have a minimum of three years of work experience in the dental assisting field without a diploma, degree, or certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Diploma training in dental assisting is preferred but not required.
• Willing to take the RDA exam if not certified.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Knowledge of current education methodologies and techniques.

Dental Assistant Instructor Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for teaching. Must have two years of experience in the dental assisting field with a degree, diploma, or certificate.

• Teach dental assisting courses according to the lesson plan and syllabus as directed by the program supervisor
• Prepare and grade written and practical examinations
• Attend faculty meetings, in-service meetings, graduation ceremonies, and other events as required by the College.
• Dress professionally in accordance with the faculty dress code
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Experience

• REQUIRED In-field experience: 2-3 years

Skills and Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of two years of work experience in the dental assisting field (with diploma, degree, or certificate).
• Must have a minimum of three years of work experience in the dental assisting field (WITHOUT diploma, degree, or certificate).
• Successful completion of High School, its equivalent, or a state-authorized examination certificate is required.
• Successful completion of a Dental Assistant or diploma training program is preferred but not required.
• Must be willing to take the RDA exam if you are not certified
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques

License/Certification

• REQUIRED - RDA (within 75 days of employment)
