Job summary

NiteLines USA in FCC Butner, NC is seeking a Dental Assistant to support a federal corrections setting. The role offers a pay rate of $28.00 per hour, a Monday–Friday schedule, and full benefits.

You will assist the Dental Officer across specialties, prepare instruments, manage records, and educate patients. CP R certification and radiology training are required; two years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Dental Assistant certification from an accredited school.
• Training must include dental radiology and radiology safety.
• CPR certification in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
• Minimum of two years of experience providing Dental Assistant services.
• Bilingual oral communication skills and experience in a clinical correctional setting are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist dental officer in restorative, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and exams.
• Retrieve patient records and escort patients to proper dental specialty section; seats and prepares patient for attending Dental Officer.
• Assist Dental Officer by preparing dental instruments, essential materials, drugs, and medications.
• Pass instruments, retract tissues, irrigates oral cavity, and operates aspirator.
• Observe patient's responses and assist patient for dismissal from the Dental Clinic.
• Gives instructions for subsequent dental appointments.
• Make necessary entries on dental treatment records (electronic and paper).
• Prepare dental treatment room for the next patient.
• Assist in the treatment of emergency cases.
• Provide dental health education.
• Charting for dental screening exams.
• Preparation of patients for periodontal surgery.
• Dental and periodontal charting.
• Place temporary fillings.
• Prepare places and remove packs.
• Place and remove rubber dams.
• Maintain dental equipment.
• Clean, sharpens, and sterilizes instruments.
• Perform daily inspection of equipment and make minor repairs.
• Report defective equipment or utilize corrective action.
• Prepare entries for patient's records.
