Job summary

Dental Nook at Red Rock Canyon in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our private practice. The role covers chairside assisting, hygiene support, and patient care in a friendly, team-oriented environment. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with three-day weekends on the horizon.

You will support the doctor, prepare rooms and instruments, take radiographs, maintain records, and ensure infection control standards. We value reliability and initiative.

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience required.
• Strong clinical skills and confidence assisting the doctor.
• Ability and willingness to work in both restorative and accelerated hygiene settings.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to recognize what needs to be done without constant direction.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient four-handed assisting during restorative and other dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for scheduled procedures.
• Anticipate the doctor’s needs to maintain an organized and efficient workflow.
• Take quality diagnostic radiographs.
• Assist with patient education, treatment explanations, and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment notes.
• Follow proper infection control, sterilization, and OSHA protocols.
• Monitor inventory and help maintain well-stocked operatories.
• Seat and prepare hygiene patients promptly.
• Review and update medical histories.
• Take necessary radiographs and assist with clinical records as permitted.
• Prepare operatories and ensure instruments and supplies are readily available.
• Assist the hygienist with patient flow to keep appointments running efficiently.
• Coordinate with the doctor and hygienist for timely examinations.
• Turn over and prepare hygiene rooms between patients.
• Communicate effectively with clinical and front office team members to maintain a smooth schedule.

Position Responsibilities:

Chairside Dental Assisting:
