Job summary

La Clinica de Familia is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists during examinations and treatments. You will prepare and sterilize instruments, assist with X-rays, and ensure patient comfort and confidentiality in a community health setting.

Requirements include a High School Diploma with dental office exposure, NM Dental Assistant certification, NM radiology certification, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with six months experience in a dental office.
• Certification as a Dental Assistant in New Mexico.
• New Mexico radiology certification.
• Current NM X-Ray Certification or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist during examinations and treatments.
• Prepare, clean, sterilize, and arrange dental instruments.
• Assist dentist with dental X-rays.

Job Summary

Performs semi-technical dental and routine clerical work. Work involves assisting the dentist during examination and treatment; cleaning, sterilizing, and arranging instrument; assisting dentist with X-rays. Work under the supervision of the dentist and performs routine tasks according to standard procedures and instructions while promoting the well-being of all people of SouthernNM through community health and social services.

• Working knowledge of key dental procedures such as sterilization and X-ray techniques and accurate posting of patient treatments
• Working knowledge of dental instruments and their use
• Working knowledge of OSHA administration as it pertains to dental practices

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma with six months experience in a dental office and completion of a training course in dental assisting.
• Certification as a Dental Assistant in New Mexico; New Mexico radiology certification.
• Current New Mexico X-Ray Certification or must be able to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Must pass a criminal background check; maintain a current driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and maintain a clean driving record.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
