Job summary

La Clinica de Familia in Southern New Mexico seeks a Dental Assistant to support dentists during exams and treatments. You will clean, sterilize, and arrange instruments, and assist with X-rays while promoting community health and well-being.

Requirements include a High School diploma with six months dental office experience, NM Dental Assistant certification, NM radiology certification, and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency. A background check and valid NM driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 6 months dental office experience.
• Certification as Dental Assistant in NM and NM radiology certification.
• Current NM X-Ray Certification or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Pass a criminal background check; maintain a current driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and clean driving record.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Job Summary:

Performs semi-technical dental and routine clerical work. Work involves assisting the dentist during examination and treatment; cleaning, sterilizing, and arranging instrument; assisting dentist with X-rays. Work under the supervision of the dentist and performs routine tasks according to standard procedures and instructions while promoting the well-being of all people of SouthernNM through community health and social services.

• Bilingual English / Spanish
• Working knowledge of key dental procedures such as sterilization and X-ray techniques and accurate posting of patient treatments
• Working knowledge of dental instruments and their use
• Working knowledge of OSHA administration as it pertains to dental practices

• Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
• High degree of organization and attention to detail
• Demonstrated self initiative and adaptability with ability to take direction as well
