As a dental assistant, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

• Obtaining a thorough medical history for our patients from their parents (s)/guardians (s)
• Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Performing dental prophylaxis (cleanings)
• Assisting our pediatric dentist(s) during a variety of treatment procedures
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Providing post-operative instructions to patients/parents following placement of a restoration (filling), surgery, or other dental treatment procedures
• Teaching patients/parents appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., toothbrushing, flossing, and dietary/nutritional counseling)
• Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a computer (PC/Mac)
  
  

preparing and sterilizing instruments/equipment

• Setting up/taking down instruments for each procedure
• Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering/stocking supplies)
• Helping provide direct patient care within the specialty of pediatric dentistry
• Must be familiar with OSHA guidelines (infection control) and HIPAA guidelines
• Must be punctual, reliable, a team player, and ready to work

Schedule Monday- Friday full day 8:30 am- 5:00 pm
