Job summary

Heartland Dental is seeking a Dental Assistant in Hammond, LA to greet patients, assist clinicians, and support a smooth, efficient practice. The role requires chairside experience, familiarity with Dentrix, and a commitment to safety and patient education.

A welcome bonus of $1,500 is offered along with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within Heartland Dental's extensive network. Schedule is Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-2pm, with potential for training and advancement

Qualifications

2+ years of chairside dental assisting in a general dentistry setting.
Dentrix or other dental software experience.
Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required by state act.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
HIPAA training and PHI protection required.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey and sustain patient comfort and education.
Review patient health history to provide quality care.
Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
Provide chairside assistance during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with state dental practice act.
Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
Prepare treatment room with safety protocols and follow OSHA & CDC recommendations.
Manage supply and inventory levels and place/expedite orders as needed.
Partner with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.
