LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans is seeking Dental Assistant 1 or 2 in the LSUNO Orthodontics department. The role provides chair side assistance to licensed dentists and dental students across multiple specialties in a university clinical setting.
DA1 requires no prior experience; DA2 requires one year of dental assisting or dental hygiene training. Work includes exam prep, radiography, patient instruction, and student supervision in a Civil Service environment.
To provide chair side assistance to a licensed dentist and to instruct and assist dental students in four-handed dentistry. The employee will provide chair side assistance to dentists and dental students in a variety of specialties which include but not limited to: Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics, Pedodontics, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. The employee will work under the general supervision of the dental assistant supervisor in the sophomore, junior and senior clinic, General Practice Residency Program and the Emergency Dental Clinic at the LSUHSC School of Dentistry.
