Heartland Dental is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant for a full-time Mon–Tues schedule in Windermere, FL. The position requires dental assistant experience and state-specific x-ray certification if required.

• Collaborate with providers to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize workflow.

Dental Assistant, Windermere FL

Position Overview

Windermere Village Dental Care, part of the Heartland Dental network, is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant for a full‑time Mon–Tues schedule (no weekends). Candidates must have dental assistant experience and, if required by state law, x‑ray certification.

Schedule & Location

Mon–Tues shift; no weekend work. Location: Winter Garden Vineland Rd, Windermere, FL.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients, sustain patient comfort, and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
• Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
• Provide chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
• Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare the treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA & CDC recommendations.
• Manage supply and inventory levels, place and expedite orders as needed.
• Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification if required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Will have access to minimum PHI; requires regular HIPAA training and protection of PHI.

Preferred Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in a dental setting.
• Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software.
• Dental assisting school certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
• Can lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
• Availability to attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
• Tuberculosis (TB) test required for all new hires in dental office positions; not applicable in FL & TN.
