Job summary

Thundermist Health Center is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to provide exceptional patient care and support during dental procedures at our West Warwick location. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, X-Ray and BLS Certifications, and strong interpersonal communication skills to ensure patient comfort and confidentiality. This role entails sterilization of tools, assisting dentists, and documenting vital patient information while adhering to health regulations.

Qualifications

• Completion of X-Ray Certification within 6 months of hire required.
• Experience with computers and maintaining confidentiality.
• 1 year experience as a dental assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to the Dentist during procedures.
• Sterilize dental instruments and document patient charts.
• Take alginate impressions and able to take clear x-ray films.

General Responsibilities:

The Dental Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on support to the Dentist, completing preparation work to efficiently care for patients and assist during dental procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

X-Ray Certification (or completion within 6 months of hire)

BLS Certification

Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Consistently professional appearance and attitude.

Able to provide great patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year experience as a dental assistant

Significant Job Functions:

Sterilization of dental instruments

Setting up dental procedures

Demonstrating and developing x-ray films

Taking alginate impressions

Ability to take clear x-ray films

Document vitals and chief complaints in chart

Document notes in chart

Document treatment plan in chart

Physical Effort/ Environment:

The duties of this position are performed onsite at a Thundermist location.

This position requires the use of fingers and hand manipulation using instruments and dental equipment. On feet most of the day.

Work Schedule Demands:

As determined with department hiring needs.

Must be available for overtime, including nights and weekends, when necessary.

Communication Skills:

This position requires the ability to verbally communicate with patients.
