Job summary

Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality dental care to our community. Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

You will provide chairside support, take impressions, and assist with patient education and treatment planning. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CPR, infection control certification, and California X-ray license. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required.
• 8-hour infection control certificate required.
• California X-ray license required.
• Willing to travel to other MCHC sites for trainings/coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside and clinical support during exams and procedures.
• Take impressions for models and denture appliances.
• Place and remove rubber dams or other isolation devices.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during appointments; communicate observations to the dentist.
• Assist in discussing treatment plans with patients and liaise between provider and patient.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care.
• Prepare and disinfect treatment rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
