Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology and Dentrix, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and infection control.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring they are clean, organized, and equipped with necessary instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and assist in medical documentation as required.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary.
- Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow in the clinic.
- Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role within a dental clinic setting.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with Dentrix is preferred.
- Proficiency in taking medical imaging and X-ray procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining medical records and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
