Job summary

Now Dental of Suffolk, affiliated with Affinity Dental Management, in Smithtown, NY, is seeking a Dental Assistant who will support dentists, take digital x-rays, and help maintain a modern, multi-op office.

The role offers a competitive starting wage, full benefits for full-time staff, CE opportunities, and a schedule Mon-Thu 9am-6pm, Fri 9am-5pm. Practical dental assisting experience and NY license preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Certificate from a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
• Current NY DA license, or DANB CDA, ICE & RHS certifications (preferred).
• CPR certification (required).
• At least 1 year of dental assisting experience (required).
• Denticon software knowledge (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, welcoming environment for patients.
• Assist dentists chairside during procedures, passing instruments and supporting patient comfort.
• Take and process digital x-rays.
• Prepare and sterilize treatment rooms, instruments, and materials.
• Pour, trim, and polish study casts and removable appliances.
• Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Track supplies and stock operatories.
• Document patient services accurately in digital records.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and aftercare.

Your Schedule

• Monday-Thursday: 9AM-6PM
• Friday: 9AM-5PM

Your Role as a Dental Assistant

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Certificate from a CODA-accredited dental assisting program (preferred)
• Current NY DA license, or DANB CDA, ICE & RHS certifications (preferred)
• CPR certification
• At least 1 year of dental assisting experience (required)
• Denticon software knowledge (a plus)
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a patient-first mindset
