Overview
We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care, skilled in chairside support, and able to maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive experience for every patient.
Responsibilities
- Chairside Assistance: Prepare treatment rooms and assist the dentist during procedures (e.g., fillings, extractions, crowns, root canals); hand instruments to the dentist and anticipate procedural needs; ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment.
- Patient Care & Communication: Greet and prepare patients for treatment; review medical histories and update patient records; provide post-procedure instructions and oral hygiene education.
- Sterilization & Infection Control: Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to OSHA and CDC guidelines; organize and maintain dental supplies and instruments; ensure operatory cleanliness and readiness between appointments.
- Administrative Support (as needed): Schedule appointments and confirm visits; assist with billing, insurance processing, or charting; maintain accurate treatment documentation.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) preferred
- X-ray certification (Required / Preferred — depending on state regulations)
- Knowledge of Patient Management Software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
