Job summary

Garden State Dental in Toms River, NJ is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the clinical team and deliver high-quality patient care in a team-based setting.

Responsibilities include room preparation, instrument sterilization, radiography, patient education, and accurate record-keeping. A one-year DA program is preferred; X-ray certification is required; CPR and OSHA/HIPAA training are expected on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

• Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program is preferred.
• 1 year of on-the-job experience is required.
• X-Ray certification is required.
• Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
• CPR certification and annual OSHA/HIPAA training are expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
• Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
• Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records and scheduling; assist with emergencies per CPR readiness.
