Carus Dental - The Woodlands is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team. You’ll work with state-of-the-art technology and a supportive team focused on patient care.

Responsibilities include chairside assistance, taking x‑rays, using Dentrix for scheduling and records, and maintaining safety standards. Certification requirements vary by state; HIPAA training is required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology required.
  • Experience in fast-paced patient-centric environments preferred.
  • Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification may be required by state law.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Access to PHI with HIPAA training and data safeguards.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and ensure their comfort throughout treatment.
  • Review patient health history to tailor quality care.
  • Take and process X-rays and other diagnostics (e.g., iTero 3D scanner).
  • Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dentists during procedures.
  • Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
  • Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols per OSHA & CDC.
  • Manage supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with providers to maximize office workflow.

Carus Dental - The Woodlands is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

More About The Role
  • Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, sustain patient comfort, and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
  • Conduct a thorough review of the patient’s health history to provide quality care.
  • Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
  • Provide superior chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures in accordance with the state dental practice act.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
  • Prepare treatment room with strict adherence to safety protocols and following OSHA & CDC recommendations.
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, and place and expedite orders as needed.
  • Partner with the providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
  • If required under the state dental practice act, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Access to minimum PHI necessary for performing job-related functions; regular HIPAA training will be required, and the individual will need to protect PHI and maintain data safeguards.
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of experience in a dental setting.
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
  • Dental assisting school certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year.
  • A tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions. This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
