Dental Assistant

North Hill Dentistry is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team.

More about the role

  • Greet and assist patients, ensuring comfort and providing education throughout treatment.
  • Review patient health histories to ensure quality care.
  • Take and process X-rays and other diagnostic assessments (e.g., iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
  • Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) during procedures in accordance with state dental practice acts.
  • Use Dentrix for scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols, OSHA, and CDC guidelines.
  • Manage supplies and inventory, including placing orders.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement systems and optimize workflow.

About North Hill Dentistry

North Hill Dentistry is a community-focused practice located off West Garland Ave., next to Washington Trust Bank. Our team of nine thrives on collaboration, communication, and community engagement. We offer a professional and friendly environment with room for growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Dental assistant and/or x-ray certification as required by state law.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle PHI securely; HIPAA training will be provided.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 1 year of dental assisting experience.
  • Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software.
  • Dental assisting certification from an accredited program.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform duties with or without accommodations.
  • Prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Availability for periodic virtual or in-person training sessions.
  • A TB test is required prior to employment, except in FL & TN.
