Position Summary

To provide quality dental care by working with the Dentist and Hygienist, performing routine administrative and patient care duties to assist in examinations and treatments.

General Education Requirements

Graduate from a Florida Board of Dentistry-approved or CODA-accredited dental assisting program, or possess at least three years of experience in Pediatric, General, or Oral Dentistry in lieu of formal education.

Additional Requirements
  • Florida Radiation Safety coursework and X-Ray Certification
  • Current BLS/CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross
  • Ability to work well in a team, remain motivated, and demonstrate initiative
Primary Accountabilities
  • Complete and verify patient charts, enter data into EMR systems
  • Seat patients, record vitals, triage, and prepare patients for providers
  • Maintain patient flow, assist with radiographs and dental procedures
  • Record testing, dispose of biohazard waste per OSHA standards
  • Prepare instruments and materials, maintain supplies and equipment
  • Build rapport with patients, instruct on oral health and post-treatment care
  • Ensure proper sterilization and safety protocols
  • Assist with patient discharge and follow-up scheduling
  • Support team collaboration and uphold organizational goals
