Qualifications

Family Dental Care of East Peoria is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

Schedule Availability Needed

Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Friday 7:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

More about the role

  • Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, ensuring patient comfort and providing education throughout treatment
  • Review patient’s health history to provide quality care
  • Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.)
  • Provide chairside assistance during procedures in accordance with state dental practice act
  • Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping
  • Prepare treatment rooms following safety protocols, OSHA & CDC guidelines
  • Manage supplies and inventory, place orders as needed
  • Partner with team to implement systems and maximize workflow

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
  • Dental assistant and x-ray certification if required by state law
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to protect PHI and complete HIPAA training

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ years of dental experience
  • Experience with Dentrix or similar software
  • Dental assisting certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Prolonged sitting and standing
  • Lift and carry up to 45 pounds
  • Attend periodic training sessions
  • TB test required prior to employment, except in FL & TN
