Role Description

The Dental Assistant role at Mission Dental Care is a full-time, on-site position based in Oceanside, CA. The Dental Assistant will support dentists during clinical procedures, including preparing treatment rooms, arranging instruments, and assisting with chairside tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities include taking and processing dental radiographs, maintaining accurate patient records, and helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment. The role also involves ensuring proper sterilization and organization of instruments, setting up and breaking down operatories, and monitoring inventory of dental supplies. The Dental Assistant will collaborate closely with the clinical and front office teams to support efficient patient flow and uphold high standards of infection control, safety, and customer service.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8am-5pm

Compensation: $23 - $28

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Dental Assisting, including chairside support and familiarity with routine dental procedures.
• Knowledge of Dentistry and Dental Care practices, including basic restorative and preventive treatments.
• Understanding of Oral Care best practices and ability to educate patients on home care and hygiene.
• Proficiency in Sterilization protocols and infection control standards in a clinical setting.
• Ability to take and process dental radiographs (radiography certification).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills with a respectful, inclusive approach.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Basic computer skills and experience with dental practice management or electronic health record systems is a plus.
• CPR certification and prior experience in a dental or healthcare setting preferred.
