Role: Dental Assistant
Location: Ocala, FL
Duration: Long Term
Compensation: $21.31 per hour
Responsibilities
- Perform expanded duties as licensed by the Florida Board of Professional Regulations for certified dental assistants.
- Polish clinical crowns of teeth.
- Apply topical fluoride gels and varnish.
- Place temporary restorations and sealants.
- Remove sutures.
- Fabricate temporary crowns, pack cord, and cement temporary crowns.
Dental Treatment
As part of the expanded duties, the Dental Assistant will also provide the following services:

Four-Handed Dental Technique
- Review medical history with patient/guardian and record blood pressure.
- Complete signs, symptoms, and objective data for SOAP notes and document in EagleSoft.
- Use proper barrier techniques.
- Pass instruments while retracting tongue/cheek and suctioning appropriately.
- Coordinate assisting methods with dentist’s actions.
- Adjust dental equipment and light source as needed.
- Mix restorative materials and cements.
Operatory Setup
- Ensure instruments and equipment are ready before patient arrives.
- Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds.
Radiographs
- Maintain valid radiographic certification as licensed by the Board of Professional Regulations.
- Operate ScanX phosphoric plates and EagleSoft software.
Sterilization & Infection Control
- Clean and sterilize instruments per dental clinic procedures.
- Maintain autoclave, disinfect counters, and environmental surfaces.
Skills / Education Required
- Florida Dental Radiology Certificate (required)
- Florida Expanded Duty Dental Certificate (required)
- Active FL Driver’s License
- Current CPR Certification
- Working knowledge of:
- Standard dental procedures, techniques, and materials used in a clinic.
- OSHA standards, dental infection control, and hazardous dental materials.
- Proficiency with EagleSoft electronic oral health records.
- Positive and professional attitude toward dental director, dentist, students, staff, patients, and families.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Highly preferred.
- Pediatric dental experience – Highly preferred.
